Electronic Poker is a favored game that usually will be enjoyed in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your personal computer, through an Internet account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and consist of the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards achievable in order to come away with money. In this respect it’s much the same as a normal game of poker, minus the interaction with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be useless in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be "dealt" on the screen.

The Electronic Poker game also has buttons with ‘hold’ written on them, and bettors will need to now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.

After the player has selected which cards she wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be given out. The game is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.

Normally, the lowest winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can vary from game to game, so that discerning gamblers are agile enough to select the most profitable machine every time.

As soon as the first round has played out, the player can either decide to remain on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the player a chance to double their wins, in which case another round is played. There are also differences among specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
