Electronic Poker is a favored game that is able to be played in casinos across the world, or in your house on your personal computer, using a web account. The game rules are very simple and involve the player trying to get the highest combination of cards achievable in order to win cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a regular game of poker, without the interaction with other players. Of course, techniques employed during a real-life game of poker, such as tricking, will be useless here.
The game of Electronic Poker starts when the player puts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and presses the deal button. A hand of five cards will be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.
The Video Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and gamblers will need to now decide which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.
After the player has chosen which cards he wishes to retain, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards are given out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Electronic Poker machine analyzing the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payout schedule.
Generally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It goes without saying that the payout schedule can range from game to game, so that discerning enthusiasts are agile enough to choose the most profitable game every instance.
As soon as the first round has finished, the player can either decide to continue on and try to to increase their earnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Further, several styles of the game give the gambler an opportunity to increase their winnings, in which situation a further round is played. There are also variations among specific games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
